🇬🇧 The promotion of gender equality is a priority for the EU, urging Member States to ensure equal opportunities and combat gender-based violence. To address these challenges, the City of Turin has joined the European Project FEMACT Cities - Transforming Cities for Women, cofounded by the European Territorial Cooperation Program URBACT, launching a process to integrate gender equality into local policies.
With support from CIRSDE (University of Turin), the goal is to draft the Gender Equality Plan (GEP) and lay the foundations for the Gender Budget, defining actions to break down existing barriers and promote diversity. To this end, the Urbact Local Group, composed of about 50 colleagues, has been established to co-design the GEP through a participatory and collaborative process.
