This is where Europe is built.
Not a conference. Not an expo.
A space where projects, people and communities take form together.

European Projects Festival is a space where European project design moves beyond procedures and becomes a shared practice.
A place where organisations, professionals and communities come together to engage, build relationships and shape concrete projects.

Muses. Maps. Meanings.
Three ways to read and inhabit Europe.
Europe is not just a place. It is a space of relationships, stories, and shared imagination.
We often speak about Europe through programmes, policies, and institutions. But Europe is also something we experience every day — in encounters, collaborations, and in the way we build meaning together.
At the origin of this process are the Muses. The narratives, representations, and languages through which we interpret Europe. They are not neutral: they shape perspectives, define what becomes visible, and contribute to how we understand rights, equality, and belonging.
Maps help us navigate territories. But they are never neutral. They reflect perspectives, choices, and ways of seeing the world.
Meanings emerge when these maps intersect with our experiences. They take shape through dialogue, practice, and collective reflection.
And between muses, maps, and meanings, there is something essential: belonging. The feeling of being part of something larger, without losing complexity, diversity, and difference.
The European Projects Festival is born from this idea. Not as a traditional event, but as a living space where projects, people, and communities meet. A space where ideas take shape, collaborations emerge, new maps are drawn, and shared meanings are built.
In this space, Europe is not explained. It is experienced. And it does so across five sections: Forum, Factory, Fair, Fest, Food.

THE EVENT
› WE FRAME SHORT FILM FESTIVAL
Three days of screenings, meetings, and open activities, where short films created by young European filmmakers become a catalyst for dialogue with the public.
An experience that bridges artistic creation and the European dimension, placing the themes of equality, rights, and social transformations at its core.
CONCEPT
WE Frame – Short Film Festival represents the final event of the European project "WE Frame – Collective Views for Equality" (CERV – Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values, GA n. 101196808). The project promotes a shared reflection on gender equality through an intersectional and intergenerational approach, capable of fostering a dialogue between experiences, identities, and the transformations of European society. The Festival is the moment where research, training, and artistic production converge, giving rise to audiovisual narratives that interpret the present and question the future of Europe.
THE FESTIVAL
As part of the European Projects Festival 2026, the WE Frame Short Film Festival is designed as a cinematic event, an open space for cultural production, a transformative educational tool, and a meeting point for art, rights, and citizenship. The program includes: • Screenings of the WE Frame short films • Meet-the-director sessions and opportunities for dialogue • Training and professional activities within the audiovisual sector The featured works serve as instruments to stimulate reflection, awareness, and participation, contributing to a more inclusive and equitable European culture. 📌 All activities are free and open to the public. Participation is subject to mandatory online registration via the dedicated links for each individual event. ⚠️ Limited seating available: early registration is highly recommended.
THE PROCESS
WE Frame Short Film Festival was born from a European process of artistic and educational co-creation, structured in three main phases: • European call for young filmmakers: selection of 8 emerging directors from various European countries. • On-site labs and workshops: spaces for dialogue, experimentation, and production centered on themes of equality. • Short film production: the creation of 8 original works, developed from the content and experiences of the workshops.

Palazzo Naselli Crispi

Palazzo Naselli Crispi is one of the most fascinating historic residences in Ferrara, still relatively unknown compared to other landmarks of the city. Since 1922, it has hosted the Land Reclamation Consortium (now Consorzio di Bonifica Pianura di Ferrara), which opened the building to the public for the first time in 2021 following post-earthquake restoration works.
Located just a few steps from the Este Castle, the palace represents a rare example of a Roman-inspired residence and one of the earliest examples of 16th-century civil architecture in Ferrara. It was designed by Girolamo da Carpi, architect and painter trained under Garofalo, who developed here an innovative architectural language for his time.
Beyond its architectural value and interior decorations, Palazzo Naselli Crispi hosts the Catasto Carafa exhibition, featuring original 18th-century maps that offer a unique insight into Ferrara’s historical and territorial heritage.
Julio Cortázar Theater

Located in Pontelagoscuro (Ferrara), the Julio Cortázar Theater stands as a symbol of cultural rebirth and memory. Originally a post-war granary, the building was transformed by the Teatro Nucleo cooperative into a prestigious Production Center of regional significance, fostering a deep artistic bridge between Ferrara and Buenos Aires.
The theater is uniquely characterized by its monumental murals, which intertwine the history of the company with the collective memory of the town. Beyond its state-of-the-art multipurpose hall, the space serves as a vital sanctuary for theatrical pedagogy and civil commitment. It hosts renowned training programs—such as the "Shaman Actor" school—alongside artistic residencies and international festivals, blending avant-garde research with a profound dedication to social and historical awareness.
Former Refectory Hall

The Former Refectory Hall is located in the historic centre of Ferrara and is a space of distinctive character, created within a former convent refectory originally used as the dining hall of a religious community. Like many historic refectories, it retains an intimate and evocative atmosphere, characterised by generous volumes, high ceilings and a strong architectural identity rooted in the history of the place.
Over time, the space has been restored and repurposed, and is now suitable for cultural events, public meetings, conferences and exhibitions. Its essential yet elegant configuration makes it particularly suitable for initiatives that require an intimate and at the same time representative setting.
The Former Refectory Hall is part of Ferrara’s wider network of cultural venues, contributing to the enhancement of the city’s historical heritage through new uses and contemporary forms of participation.

Europe is not something we observe from a distance.
It is something we build, together.
