Europe also takes shape through the narratives that run across it: in the stories, images and languages through which it is represented.
 

These narratives are not neutral: they contribute to defining what becomes visible, which experiences are recognised, which values are acknowledged, and how the fundamental principles on which the European Union is founded are interpreted — from respect for human rights to freedom, democracy, equality and the rule of law.
 

The Muses day is dedicated to this level: to the narratives and imaginaries that shape how we interpret and construct Europe.
